NextMD allows you to retrieve your Minnesota Gastroenterology procedure, lab and test results safely and securely online.  Once you are enrolled in NextMD, you will also be able to view preparation instructions for upcoming procedures, such as colonoscopy.

 

Enroll in NextMD

Enrolling in NextMD is easy.  Just tell any Minnesota Gastroenterology staff member that you'd like to sign up.

  • Step 1: You will be given a secure eight-digit number, called an enrollment or security token.  This number will allow you to enroll in NextMD within the next 30 days.  You must provide Minnesota Gastroenterology with your email address, if you have not already done so.
  • Step 2:  Click on www.nextmd.com.  When the Welcome screen appears, select Enroll Now.
  • Step 3:  Read the Terms and Conditions.  Select Accept, if you decide to proceed with enrollment.
  • Step 4:  When the Submit Your Enrollment Validation screen opens, enter your Security Token number and your Email Address.  Your email address must match the one you provided to Minnesota Gastroenterology.  Select Submit.
  • Step 5:  Now you will be asked to enter a User Name and Password.  For your protection, you will also select a Login Security Question and set up the Secure Password Reset Feature.
  • Step 6:  Log in.  You are now enrolled in NextMD!

Computer Requirements

To enroll in NextMD, you must have:

  • A valid email account
  • 128 bit SSL enabled in your Web browser
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer v6.4 or higher - OR - Firefox v2.0 or higher

Frequently Asked Questions About NextMD

I can't log in to NextMD with my enrollment/security token.  What should I do?

You may not have fully completed the enrollment process.  Please try again, following the step-by-step instructions provided in "Enroll in NextMD" above. 

Once I'm enrolled, will I need to use my enrollment/security token again?

No.  After you enroll and set up a password, you will no longer need the token to access your account. 

Why doesn't my NextMD account show all of my test and procedure results?

NextMD has the capability to display results for the following tests and procedures.  All other test and procedure results will be mailed to you.

  • Esophageal manometry
  • PillCam
  • Breath test
  • pH probe
  • Liver tests
  • Radiology tests
  • Lab and blood work
  • Biopsy and pathology results for:
    • Colonoscopy
    • Flexible sigmoidoscopy
    • Upper endoscopy (EGD) 

I can't find the results of my colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy or upper endoscopy exam on NextMD.

Results for these procedures are not posted on NextMD, unless biopsies were taken.  In most instances, exam results for these procedures are sent by mail. 

If I have a NextMD account and change my email address, what should I do?

Call 612.871.1145, and one of our representatives will assist you in updating your email address so that you can continue to access your NextMD account.
