MN Gastroenterology Offers FibroScan

Minnesota Gastroenterology is one of the first facilities in the state to offer FibroScan.  FibroScan is a new device that offers a non-invasive, pain-free way to measure liver stiffness (fibrosis) allowing the provider to monitor the severity of a patient's liver disease at the point of care and over time.  The FibroScan device will be based at Minnesota Gastroenterology's Saint Paul Clinic and takes about 15 minutes to complete.  The staff member uses something similar to an ultrasound probe to take measurements of the liver.  The patient cannot eat or drink in the three hours preceeding
