Stephen Gilberstadt, M.D.
Professional Background
Dr. Gilberstadt received both his undergraduate and medical school degrees at the University of Minnesota. After finishing medical school in 1973, he moved to Los Angeles for his internship and residency in internal medicine at Wadsworth Veteran’s Hospital and UCLA. He returned to Minnesota in 1976 for his fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Minnesota Hospitals. After his fellowship, he jointed the full-time medical faculty of the University in the Gastroenterology Section of the Department of Medicine.
Dr. Gilberstadt joined Digestive Healthcare, MNGI's predecessor organization, in 1981 and has been practicing in the Northern suburbs since. He has many second generation patients. His practice currently is in the area of general gastroenterology.
He is board-certified by three national medical organizations: the American Board of Gastroenterology; the American Board of Internal Medicine and the National Board of Medical Examiners.
Dr. Gilberstadt likes to attend concerts and plays, and participate in a variety of sports in his leisure time.
