Ronald M Schwartz, M.D.
Professional Background
Dr. Schwartz graduated from Franklin and Marshall College with honors. He attended the University of Maryland School of Medicine and subsequently completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Minnesota. His fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology was also at the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Schwartz has research experience at the National Institute of Health, Bethesda, Maryland, including isolation of digestive enzymes. He was awarded by the World Congress of Gastroenterology for additional research he performed in intestinal absorption while working at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center.
Dr. Schwartz is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He is president of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America, Minnesota/Dakota Chapter where he is active in fundraising and patient advocacy concerns. Additionally, he is a member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Gastroenterological Association.
