James R Wood, M.D.

Professional Background

Dr. Wood completed both his undergraduate and medical school education at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. He moved to Rochester, Minnesota for his internship in the Department of Family Medicine at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Wood continued his graduate training at the Mayo Clinic, completing his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology. He also performed research at the Mayo Clinic in clinical hepatology.

Dr. Wood is board-certified by the American Board of Gastroenterology; the American Board of Internal Medicine and the National Board of medical Examiners. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.

When his schedule permits, Dr. Wood enjoys skiing, boating and a variety of outdoor activities.
