Adam Kim, MD


Dr. Kim received his undergraduate degree in Neuroscience from Colorado College.  He received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota.  He completed his internship and residency at Hennepin County Medical Center.  He then went to Yale University, in New Haven, CT, to complete his gastroenterology fellowship.

Dr. Kim has published several research papers and book chapters on his research.  Currently, he is editing a medical textbook on the clinical use of probiotics.  During medical school, Dr. Kim studied Clostridium difficile disease (C. diff) as well as colorectal and hepatic cancers.  While at Yale University, Dr. Kim studied the genetics and immunology of Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis, as well as the clinical use of probiotics.  He has worked as a reviewer for medical journals, is active in medical education, and has held leadership positions with the Minnesota Medical Association and American Medical Association.  He is a member of the Minnesota Medical Association, American Medical Association, American College of Physicians, American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association, and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. 

Dr. Kim is interested in general gastroenterology and hepatology, with special interests in Crohn’s Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Colorectal Cancer prevention and treatment, Gastro-Esophageal Reflux Disease, and the genetics of gastrointestinal disorders. 
In his leisure time, Dr. Kim enjoys triathlons, skiing, ice hockey, cooking, and gardening.
