Our Participation in Research

We firmly believe that research is the foundation for health care excellence and an important investment in the future of our patients. Our physicians are leaders in introducing advances in diagnostic and therapeutic gastroenterology techniques to clinical practice.

We provide eligible patients with opportunities to participate in national and international clinical research studies, which are conducted under the supervision of a dedicated MNGI research team. Our patients are some of the first to receive new therapies and treatments, many of which are available only through clinical research trials.

Our contributions to research have been diverse, including participation in studies for colon cancer prevention, inflammatory bowel disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease, hepatitis, Barrett's syndrome and liver disease.

Minnesota Gastroenterology physicians and patients have access to emerging GI technologies, due in large part to our large patient base, highly trained personnel and well-equipped facilities. Examples of new technology used by MNGI include the BRAVO pH capsule, HALO ablation of Barrett's esophagus and video capsule endoscopy.
