Neil P Phelan, MD

Dr. Phelan graduated Summa Cum Laude from Boston College and received his medical degree from the University of Connecticut. He performed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Mayo Clinic - Rochester. He completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Massachusetts.

Dr. Phelan is a member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Gastroenterological Association. His special interests include inflammatory bowel disease and general gastroenterology.

Patrick M O'Reilly, MD

Professional Background

Dr. O'Reilly is a native of Minnesota. He earned his undergraduate degree at Grinnell College. He then received his medical degree at the University of Minnesota in 1990. Dr. O'Reilly's internship and residency in Internal Medicine were completed at Hennepin County Medical Center. He completed his fellowship at the University of California Los Angeles Medical Center in 1996.

Dr. Nelson received his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee and completed his internship and residency at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Dr. Nelson served as Chief Resident at Wake Forest and completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at the same institution.

Professional Background

Dr. Mulvahill majored in English at Tufts University. She received all of her professional education at the University of Minnesota Medical School, internal medicine residency, and gastroenterology fellowship.

She was a former staff physician in the Department of Gastroenterology of the University of Minnesota from 1988-1990. Dr. Mulvahill is board certified in both internal medicine and gastroenterology. Her special interests are in liver and esophageal diseases.

Eric spent five years practicing as a registered dietitian (RD) at United Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota, focusing on in-patient clinical nutrition. He received his Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant studies from Augsburg College in 2006.

Dr. Keeley is a member of American Gastroenterological Association, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation.

Dr. Hunninghake completed her undergraduate work at St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minnesota. She received her medical degree in 1989, from the University of Kansas, Kansas City, Kansas. Her residency and internship in internal medicine were completed at the University of Minnesota in 1992. Her fellowship was completed at the same institution. She is board certified by both American Board of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

Amy received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Music from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN. She pursued her Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Northeastern University in Boston, MA. In 2004 she joined Minnesota Gastroenterology.

Amy is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA).

In her free time Amy enjoys playing the piano, knitting, camping, and spending time with her family.
