How We Work Together

Our Role
Your primary care doctor treats your routine health care needs and refers you to medical specialists for consultation when needed. A MNGI gastroenterologist works as a consultant to your doctor and will provide the results of your tests or procedures directly to him or her. Your regular physician will then share the results with you.

If additional testing or treatment is needed, your doctor will continue to coordinate your health care and will work with MNGI to develop an effective treatment plan.

Your Role
At MNGI, we want you to be involved in your health care: ask questions, bring in a list of your current medications, make certain your medical records have been sent to us and always provide up-to-date insurance information.

If you are scheduled for a clinic appointment, please check with your doctor’s office to make sure they have sent all pertinent medical information to our office prior to your visit. If you are scheduled for a diagnostic exam, follow all preparation instructions completely so that the procedure will be successful and will not need to be rescheduled or repeated.
